Protectors are enemies found in the Promenade of the Condemned, Graveyard and in the Slumbering Sanctuary.

Behavior[edit | edit source]

Protectors appear to be a training dummy, and do not move. The only thing they are capable of doing is giving all enemies (including elites, but excluding Golems and Kamikazes) within its radius a force field which defends it from all weapon attacks and all skill effects. As if on a timer, the force field drops for a few seconds allowing enemies to be around it to be defeated. While it does not move, all skill debuffs work on them. It can be stunned and is effected by the bleeding debuff. Stunning them breaks the barriers it gives other enemies around it, allowing the player to clear the area around the Protector to make it easier to hit and destroy.

  • Used to be called Defender, which ironically became the name of the masked guys carrying Protectors in the Astrolab.
  • The character design is a clear reference to the dummy from the first area of every run in Rogue Legacy.
