One of the first enemies the player meets, and the most resilient to attacks, Zombies appear in many areas and can be deadly in large numbers. They seem to have crystals or small plants growing on their bodies.

Behavior[edit | edit source]

Zombies have two attacks: a scratch when the player is close, and a lunge when the player is out of scratching range. Both can be dodged, and the lunge attack can even be crouched under if you're in the center of its jump. It can't jump to other platforms using its lunge, and simply stops when it encounters the edge.

Elite Zombies have no attack pattern changes, but attack faster and are even harder than usual to stun.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

Zombies are the most basic enemies in Dead Cells. Their limited movement and range makes them easy to dispatch, but they can deal significant damage in large numbers, especially with successive Lunges.

Pay attention to Zombies' attack patterns and retaliate accordingly after dodging behind them. Their telegraphed attacks have high startup, making them easy to avoid or intercept.
